The bright blue Ford GT 40 bearing the number 6 is now known for its role in the film of the famous 24-hour long-distance race in northern France. It was part of the American fleet sent over to keep the dominant Ferraris in check. The Italian Mario Andretti and the Belgian Lucien Bianchi sat at the wheel of the ‘Holman & Moody’ team Ford. Sadly, they weren’t able to finish the race as one of the Ford’s cylinders overheated.
Top of the Carrera podium!
In 1966 the Ford GT40 MKII ‘No.6’ was involved in a fierce battle for the sports car championship title. The 1:24-scale slot-car is a homage to the cars of yesteryear. As it speeds around the Carrera racing circuit in its legendary blue 1966 livery, bearing race number 6, this car leaves all the other drivers coughing dust. The car is fitted with working front, rear and brake lights to drive at maximum speeds and maximum visibility. It’s digital controllable and can be coded individually.
