As the successor to the Mercedes AMG C-Class, Mercedes introduced the AMG C 63 in DTM in the year 2016. After a 5th place finish in the 2016 season, veteran driver Paul Di Resta wanted to make it onto the podium in 2017. With his usual relaxed manner and his start number 3, he also started for Mercedes in 2017.
