Audi dominance in the DTM

Everything went really well for Audi in the 2017 season. Four Audi RS 5 DTM cars finished in the top four spots. Mattias Ekström celebrated second place in the overall standings at the end of the season. The Swede has been driving for Audi in the DTM since 2001 and has clinched many successes. Highlights of his career in the DTM were the overall victories in 2004 and 2007, but Ekström was always good for a victory in the following years as well, going on to clinch a total of 75 podium positions. He drove his last race in the DTM at the Hockenheimring in 2017
