Carrera Challenge TourCarrera Challenge Tour

Rules for the following Carrera events:
  • Carrera Challenge Tour
  • Carrera European Championship
  • Carrera World Championship
 
1. Race mode:
Racing will take place on a Carrera circuit using Carrera cars. Scale and system are announced each year.
 
2. Age groups
Racers are to be divided into three age categories:
1) 7 – 12 years    2) 13 – 17 years   3) 18 years up
 
3. Warm up
2 mins. free training (2 lanes – 4 drivers)
The warm up session allows competitors to get used to the track and the car.
 
4. Qualifying / starting grid positions
3 laps (2 lanes – 4 drivers)
The fastest time of each of the three qualifying laps in shall be used to produce the grid positions 1 – 4 for the race itself.
 
5. Racing
Racing takes place in a total of 10 laps. The total race time is then entered into each driver’s licence.
 
6. Winner of the day / placings
The times of the 10 fastest competitors are entered into the results table. The 3 winners are awarded awarde prizes as winners of the day. In principal, anyone can compete as often as he/she wants, but only one first, second or third place result can be accepted over the course of the Carrera Challenge Tour 2009 and Carrera ClubZone 2009. A competitor can forfeit a result/placing in order to have the opportunity to achieve a better race result on the day at another race venue.
 
7. Awards ceremonies
In order to receive a winner of the day prize the competitor must appear at the awards ceremony for that particular day in person. In exceptional cases a representative may be sent, but this must be agreed before the ceremony with the race directors. If the winning competitor does not appear at the awards ceremony the next best placed competitor shall be awarded the placement.
 
8. Carrera race series
A Carrera race series consists of the Carrera Challenge Tour / Carrera European Championship and Carrera World Championship. Hence, a race series lasts from one Carrera World Championship to the next Carrera World Championship and has been completed as soon as a new Carrera World Champion has been named.
 
The events take place at the following intervals:
• Carrera Challenge Tour / annual
• Carrera European Championship / every two years
• Carrera World Championship / every four years
 
9. Reigning Carrera World Champion
The ‘Carrera World Champion’ is also bestowed with the following honours:
  • Entry in the Carrera Hall of Fame
  • The name of every Carrera World Champion is engraved on the base of the Carrera World Championship trophy. The trophy shall be awarded by the reigning world champion to the new world champion. The original trophy shall remain in the possession and ownership of the company. Each Carrera World Champion will be awarded a detailed replica of the trophy. 
  • As reigning Carrera World Champion the champion shall be obliged to take on representative functions at various Carrera events.
  • In order to enable other ambitious Carrera fans to be able to win this title, and in view of the promotional purpose of Carrera events, a reigning Carrera World Champion must be succeeded by a different World Champion. Hence, it is not possible to defend the title of Carrera World Champion and the reigning world champion shall not be entitled to participate in any Carrera events in the subsequent race series until a new Carrera World Champion has been found.
10. Entitlement to compete
Any individual of 7 years of age upwards is entitled to compete. The reigning Carrera World Champion is not entitled to compete in the next world championship or in the preceding qualifiers. Employees of the Stadlbauer Group are barred from all competitions.
 
11. Qualification
  • Those automatically qualifying for the Carrera Challenge Tour final include the winners of the day and racers with the same time from each of the age groups at each of the tour stops and Carrera ClubZone race events.
  • The winner of the previous Carrera Challenge Tour final does not automatically qualify for the final the following year. Such individuals shall be required to qualify for the final via one of the Carrera Challenge Tour stops or Carrera ClubZone race events.
  • The Carrera Challenge Tours prior to the Carrera European Championship serve as the only means of qualifying for the Carrera European Championship. Each of the winners of the individual Carrera Challenge Tours in the participating countries automatically qualify for the Carrera European Championship. Winners of previous years’ Carrera Challenge Tours do not automatically qualify for the Carrera European Championship.
  • Qualification for the Carrera World Championships is achieved via the Carrera Challenge Tours held before them. Each winner of the individual Carrera Challenge Tour stages in the participating countries automatically qualifies for the Carrera World Championship. Winners of previous years’ Carrera Challenge Tours do not automatically qualify for the Carrera World Championship.
 
12. Rules:
  • The only cars authorised for use are those provided by the race directors/Carrera.
  • Motor sport is bound to principles of fairness. Opponents must be overtaken without being endangered.
  • Violations of these principles and rules shall entitle the race management to insist on disqualification.
  • The race directors reserve the right to caution drivers for conspicuous behaviour or driving, deliberate jostling, shoving or derailment. Should the driver ignore the caution the race directors reserve the right to disqualify the driver in question.
  • If any driver is forced to retire due to technical or electronic problems, the heat shall be repeated with all four drivers.
  • In cases of damage to a car or a track, the race directors shall reserve the right to decide how to proceed.
  • Prizes can not be changed paid out in cash, or otherwise compensated for. No recourse to legal action shall be permitted.
  • All competitors have been informed that any photographic or film material shot at the venue of the event may be used subsequently for advertising purposes.
  • All Carrera events are organised by Stadlbauer Marketing + Vertrieb Gesellschaft mbH, Magazinstraße 4, A-5027 Salzburg, Austria. The organisers reserve the right to amend these conditions at any time.
