Carrera World Championship-Finale 2012Carrera World Championship-Finale 2012
Germany wins!Germany wins!

Manuel Radlinger is the fastest Carrera driver in the world!

It would be hard to imagine a more tense and action-packed final than the Carrera World Championship Final that took place on Saturday, 19th May 2012, providing great excitement right up to the final lap when Germany’s Manuel Radlinger claimed the winner’s trophy. Hailing from Franconia, Radlinger beat off 12 other competitors from 11 countries in front of 400 enthusiastic spectators who gathered during the 40th ADAC Zurich 24h Race at the Nürburgring race circuit in Germany, and can now look forward to a holiday with his entire family in an FTI Club in Egypt, Spain or Turkey worth a total of €10,000 – and to an entry in the illustrious Carrera ‘Hall of Fame’. The second and third places went to Hans Hüttlinger from Germany and Markus Loth of Austria.

The result of the Carrera World Championship Final 2012:
  • 1. Manuel Radlinger (Germany), 383.157 seconds
  • 2. Hans Hüttlinger (Germany), 399.771 seconds
  • 3. Markus Loth (Austria): 411.605 seconds
  • 4. Jakub Kuligowski (Poland): 438.780 seconds
It was a very memorable day at the legendary Nürburgring race circuit. Soon after the 30 metre Carrera World Championship circuit was opened by the motor racing legend Hans-Joachim 'Strietzel' Stuck and his sons, Johannes and Ferdinand of Team Stuck³, the first finalists were engaged in spectacular battles for supremacy. In many cases victory and defeat were determined by a gap of a few hundredths of a second. Despite the tension there was a friendly off-track atmosphere among the competitors from Germany, Austria, Benelux, France, Spain, England, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Switzerland and the USA. After all, they all share one passion: Carrera!

After the exciting qualifying round and the hard-fought semi-finals the field was reduced to 4 drivers who entered the 'Final Race' at 5pm to determine who would become Carrera World Champion 2012. The atmosphere could have been cut with a knife as the lights turned green and the drivers thumbed down their accelerators in the struggle to get a head start. Ultimately it was Manuel Radlinger who won in the spectacular time of 383.157 seconds just ahead of his compatriot Hans Hüttlinger, who completed the 40-lap final in 399.771 seconds. Clearly exhausted but also elated the new World Champion raised the World Championship trophy and celebrated a stunning victory.

Although the Carrera World Championship 2012 is the absolute highlight of this Carrera racing year, slotcar fans can look forward to plenty of nerve-wracking racetrack battles this autumn as the Carrera Challenge Tour 2012 provides the next opportunity to 'put the pedal to the metal'.
