The European Grand Prix in Germany – where celebrities meet up to do battle on the Carrera circuit! 21st July 2007. Nürburgring: Numerous stars came to the F1 gala to support the RTL charity marathon, even into race day Sunday for the European Grand Prix. Top celebrities and the Formula 1 crowd got together for a good cause before the big race on Sunday to take part in 1:24 scale Carrera racing. Among the many celebrity Carrera drivers there were such TV icons as Larry Hagmann, the Hollywood star Ralf Möller, the singer Roberto Blanco, Sat1 morning TV presenter Jan Hahn, the actors Liz Baffoe, Christian Kohlund and Michaela Schaffrath, as well as the singer Nevio, and RTL, presenter and RTL charity marathon initiator Wolfram Kons. Faster than every star is a description for Carrera fan Markus Haaster, who ‘rode’ to victory and took the prize of a Custom Hot Rods Carrera set in an exciting final battle. The F1 Charity Gala raised an amazing €33,250 for the RTL charity marathon to go towards the construction of a medical station for children in Tanzania under the patronage of Anke Engelke. 6pm on the 22nd November 2007 marks the start of the twelfth RTL charity marathon. There will be a live report from the charity marathon studio every hour for 24 hours as money is collected for the RTL ‘We Help Children’ charity. Over €56.5 million have already been donated by viewers during the previous editions of the event to support 66 children’s aid projects. This year’s special feature: The actual Carrera competition circuit used for the F1 Charity Gala, featuring the autographs of all the invited celebrity racers, is to be auctioned off ‘live’ during the show. All the best - for a great result - for a great cause!
